Cami's dad in jail, her mum in hospital

Postby ozzie » Wed Nov 04, 2009 5:37 am

I was wondering if you loving ladies could please keep our young Cami in your prayers.
Yesterday her step-dad went to jail for 5 months and her mum was flown to hospital with infections (if you haven't kept up with the story, she's dying of cancer and she's deteriorating quite quickly).

Cami's 15 y.old brother is still home on his own, except for a friend who is slightly older. They are off the rails.
Cami is only 17, but was told she needs to move back in to keep her brother in line, make sure theres enough food in the house and generally take care of things.

I see this as a much too heavy burden for her. Welfare still may take control of her younger brother as he's under 18. It seems that Cami's situation gets worse and worse as the weeks go by.

On a positive note she tells me "I used to think when bad stuff happenned it was God's fault, but now I know that He's working them all together for good'. Wow, she really breaks my heart sometimes, knowing she's gone through so much, but she thanks Him.

I've suggested she moves in here so we can support her and keep her in a secure and safe place, then she can still go around the corner to look after her brother as much as she can. We're unsure when her mum is returning home, but when she does, she will get sicker and sicker, so Cami will want to help her as much as she can before she passes away.

Please continue to keep Cami in your prayers and us too as we support these young ones. Thank you so much.

Dear Ozzie,

This is just heartbreaking - poor little Cami. I certainly will pray for her, and I am so glad that she has a friend in you to turn to in this frightening time.
God bless you, Ozzie, for practicing "true religion." As James says, "True religion is this: to look after widows and orphans in their distress. . . "
Love to you - Win

Thank you Win.
I called Cami this morning to check how things are, she was there with the welfare department. I was slightly concerned, but after going around there and speaking with the department lady, saw they just wanted to put in as many supports as possible for the family. They are getting the yard done today, organizing a birth certificate for Cami so she can get her drivers permit, they are organising a district nurse to come in for Cami's mum when she comes home. They took the young brother to school and went to see the principal to ensure they are informed if he doesn't turn up each day. They are arranging a small carers pension for Cami so that when she's not working full time, she can take care of the house while her mum is sick.

I helped Cami do some shopping today for the house, she was relieved to have help from welfare. So I can see this as God's hand in these young one's lives.

Cami's mum wouldn't have accepted any help at all except from Cami, so I see this as God's help for Cami.

I will certainly be praying for Cami and her family.

It is a blessing that welfare is going to help out. Praise the Lord.

Wow, I am impressed by your country's welfare department, how they're working for the good of the family and not just separate organizations only treating the separate members of the family. That's super, and I'm really glad for Cami.
Thank you, God, for watching out for this poor woman and her children, and thank You that our Ozzie is close by to share Your grace with them.

FATHER, I join Win in all things she prayed for this family and I worship YOU for the marvelous things YOU are doing for them. I thank YOU LORD for our sister Ozzie whom YOU have called to the Ministry of Compassion and MMercy LORD.

I pray that YOU will bless her heart, her dh' and all the works of their hands according to YOUR will so that they will continue to glorify YOUR name through obedience to do what YOU have put in their hearts for the advancement of YOUR kingdom. We commit Cami, her brother and mom, even the father in jail that YOUR HS will work in his heart and that even in that dungeon that YOU will send someone to speak to him of YOUR love. I pray that YOUR HS will expond to him the meaning of the gospel of CHRIST and with YOUR drawing power that he will accept JESUS CHRIST as his LORD and Savior unto salvation.

We commit all things to you LORD, in JESUS name, amen.
